Angels of Peace Thursday Night Live

Hello and welcome back to another Thursday Night Live at Gal Friday Stamping. I would like to show you what I created this past Thursday Night. With the new Mini Holiday Catalog release came lots of amazing stamp sets. So tonight I will be using Angels of Peace live tonight. These angels are just what we need with all that is going on in the world.

All products used and measurements for these two beautiful cards will be posted in my Gal Friday Group tomorrow as a PDF.

Both bold and subtle colors were used on both cards.

Of course I did not forget the inside.

This angel is the other image that is included in the stamp set. Both are so lovely.

This card design was so fun to create. Hope you will join me tonight for my Angels of Peace Live. A new card design, embossing, water coloring and beautiful die cuts.

Again, I will be live tonight, Thursday Aug. 26th at 7 PM (est) in Gal Friday Stamping Group.

Get Out that Stamparatus

We are going to do some stamping! That’s right my friends, today we are going to get out that stamparatus and stamp. The “Reflected in Nature” stamp set includes a beautiful etched image that reflects into a lake/pond. These etched lines are delicate and create the most perfect image. It is a dist-ink-tive stamp. Don’t get me wrong, you can stamp using your stamp blocks. But I found that you should get out that stamparatus.

Like I said, you can stamp this blind with your stamp block, but to get a really nice stamp the stamparatus is the way to go. It allows you to re-stamp without stamping blind. I especially needed it since I used Memento for the top and Slate Gray for the reflection.

Look closely and notice the reflection is a very light blue Stampin’ Blend wash. I also gave it a wash of Wink of Stella and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter (which is no longer available). The trees are die cut from Shimmery White card stock and the Cabin die set.

I did not forget the inside of the card. The Reflected in Nature stamp set has amazing sentiments. This sentiment is one that everyone, including myself should remember.

Blending and Vellum with Quiet Meadow

Have you ever seen a card making technique and knew you had to try it? That is what happened to me over the weekend. I knew I wanted to use the Quiet Meadows bundle, and I knew I wanted a blending technique. All I needed now was the card design. So today I am introducing you to blending and vellum with Quiet Meadows.

This is such a quick and easy card making technique. I happen to see it created by a design team member of Unity Stamps. This technique, I thought it was beautiful. I wanted to put my own spin on the design and used the Quiet Meadows stamp set and the new In-Color Soft Succulent.

The card base of the card is Soft Succulent measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. There is also an additional layer of Soft Succulent measuring 5 3/8 x 4 1/8. The layer of Basic White and Vellum are 5 1/4 x 4. I stamped the image on the vellum with Stazon ink, it was also stamped on masking. Before blending the color on the Basic White layer, I masked the image using the vellum as a template. Added the color using a Stampin’ Blend blending brush. Glue dots were added under the stamped image and to each of the four corners. Once the card was finished, I added a bow and the sentiment.

Let me explain the technique further. I stamped the image and sentiment with Stazon ink on the vellum. The image is masked and color was blended on the basic white layer. Once the mask was removed, the vellum was laid on top of the Basic White layer.

I did not forget the inside of the card. My idea was to stamp off the image but I was creating so quickly, I forgot to stamp off.

Quiet Meadow at Sunset

Welcome to the start of another week. It seems like the weekend just goes to quickly. Today, I wanted to create something quick and easy. I never got a chance to post my Simple Saturday card. This card uses a beautiful stamp set called Quiet Meadow. I am calling today’s card, Quiet Meadow at Sunset.

In creating today’s card, I masked off the top and bottom of the front layer and blended the ink to create the illusion of a sunset. The softness of the bristles on the SU blending brushes makes blending easy. The rich, dark layers created adds to the vibrancy of the colors. This clean and simple card can be used for any occasion, I used a “thinking of you” sentiment.

The card starts with the basic card base of Daffodil Delight. I added a layer of Bumblebee. Before adding the Basic White layer, I blended the color, stamped the flower in Memento and wrapped a ribbon with the sentiment attached. Quick and easy card for any occasion.

Of course I did not forget the inside of the card. I stamped off with Cajun Craze to add the same flower from the front to the inside. I also added a piece of the ribbon.
