Taking a Stroll Down Magnolia Lane.....

Today instead of creating the way I usually do....I decided to take a stroll down Magnolia Lane and alter a candle that I had out on my table....just a plain white pillar that needed something to bring it to life......

so....I altered that candle with the beautiful up and coming collection from Stampin' Up!

It i such a quick and easy project that brings a bit of extra beauty to that plain white candle...

First I stamped the image with gray stazon ink.....I was going to use black but I wanted it to look a bit as if it was colored with no lines....

than I colored the image....for this image I used my Copics....but the SU blends will work just as well for this as image as well as any stamped image....

next I attached  (with tape so it wouldn't catch in the printer) a piece of tracing paper to a sheet of card stock and copied that colored image right onto that tracing paper.....

now to fussy cut....I know this image has a cutting die but I wanted to cut as close to the edge of the image as I could....

Place that image on the candle where you want it.....and take a piece of wax paper.....long enough to wrap around your candle and hold the image in place....

now get out your heat gun and begin heating the image.....very carefully......until you see a color change under that wax paper....you don't want to actually melt the candle till it is dripping....you just want that image to become part of that very first thin layer of the candle.....heat it nice and slow......going back and forth over that image......it doesn't take long.

Remove the wax paper.....and there you have a beautiful image right on the side of your plain white candle....or any color candle but remember the color of the candle will blend with the colors of your image.....so I like to stick to white and off white...

Sure do hope you enjoyed this creation today......I would love to be your  SU demonstrator if you don't already have one......
